Harmeet K. Dhillon
Deep-rooted Conservative Values
Harmeet K. Dhillon was born in Chandigarh, India and immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of two, settling in rural North Carolina. She was raised in a conservative household which instilled in her the importance of traditional values and our Constitutional liberties. Upon their naturalization, her parents registered as Republicans and became deeply involved in the political process by volunteering and hosting fundraisers for Republican candidates.
Taking A Stand
At the age of 19, Harmeet rose to national media attention as a campus free speech activist after successfully suing Dartmouth College for suspending editors of the conservative Dartmouth Review newspaper, of which she served as Editor-in-Chief. After graduating from Dartmouth, she worked at the Heritage Foundation before attending the University of Virginia Law School and obtaining her Juris Doctorate.
Taking The Helm
Following decades of working for various international law firms, Harmeet started her own practice in 2004 and founded the Dhillon Law Group in 2006. With 22 attorneys spanning five offices nationwide, the Dhillon Law Group has represented a plethora of conservative politicians, activists, journalists, and organizations. Their practice areas include free speech, employment law, business law, and election integrity litigation. Harmeet has done work for many of the firm’s clients pro bono. In 2019, she founded a nonprofit, the Center for American Liberty, to help fulfill her vision of a national network of conservative attorneys who could represent ordinary citizens whose causes are neglected by the legacy civil rights movement.
Service to The Republican Party
In addition to her legal work, Harmeet has been deeply involved in Republican Party leadership in California for nearly two decades. In 2004, she began volunteering for the San Francisco County GOP by knocking on doors and registering voters. Over the next few years, she rose through the ranks to become Vice Chair and ultimately Chair of the SFGOP. In 2012, Harmeet was elected Vice Chair of the California Republican Party. Three years later, she was overwhelmingly elected as the RNC National Committeewoman for California, a position she holds to this day. Since 2020, she has served as Chair of the Republican National Lawyers Association.
Harmeet resides in San Francisco and the rural Sonoma coast with her husband, Sarvjit, to whom she has been happily married since 2011. She is an avid knitter and enjoys gardening and traveling.
